Augmented Reality (AR) Books FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions: Augmented Reality (AR) Books
What are AR-enabled books?
Our AR-enabled books bring certain pages to life with amazing digital experiences using Augmented Reality (AR) technology. When you scan special AR-enabled pages, animated characters, scenes, and interactive elements appear on your screen, creating an immersive reading experience.
Do I need to download an app?
No! That's the best part—you don't need to install any additional apps. The AR experience works right in your device's web browser. Just scan, point, and play!
How do I start the AR experience?
Step 1: Scan the QR Code in the book
For iPhone/iPad users:
- Open your Camera app (the default camera that comes with your device)
- Point the camera at the QR code on the page
- A link/URL will appear just below the QR code on your screen
- Tap the link to open it in Safari browser
For Android users:
- Open your Camera app or Google Lens
- Point the camera at the QR code on the page
- You'll see either a notification popup, a link at the bottom of the screen, or a small QR code icon
- Tap the notification, link, or QR code icon to open it in Chrome browser
Step 2: Allow Camera Permission
When the page opens in your browser, you'll see a popup asking for camera permission. Tap "Allow" or "OK" - this lets the AR experience use your camera to recognize the book page.
Step 3: Find the AR-enabled page
Turn the pages in your book and look for the Green/Yellow badge with the AR icon inside in the top corner. You'll notice that only specially marked pages have this badge and feature AR experiences. Not all pages are AR-enabled.
Step 4: Point and Play
Point your device's camera at the AR-enabled page (the one with the Green/Yellow badge).
Important Tip: When pointing your camera at the page, don't focus only on the AR icon - the entire single page is the trigger for launching the AR experience.
Keep the page flat and hold your device steady. Watch as the page comes alive!
Turn on the Sound: The AR content starts muted. Tap on the animation on the screen to turn the sound on and enjoy the full experience.
What devices work with AR?
The AR experience works on most modern smartphones and tablets with a camera and web browser, including iOS (iPhone/iPad) and Android devices. Make sure your device's browser is up to date for the best experience.
Are all pages in the book AR-enabled?
No, not all pages are AR-enabled. Only pages marked with the Green/Yellow AR badge in the top corner have AR experiences.
What are the quick tips for the best AR experience?
Follow these tips for optimal results:
- Keep Auto-Rotate Off: Before you start AR, tap the Portrait Orientation Lock on iPhone/iPad or turn Auto-rotate OFF on Android to keep your AR view perfectly steady
- Lighting Matters: Make sure you're in a brightly lit area. Good lighting helps your camera recognize the page instantly, even light helps!
Do I need an internet connection?
Yes, you'll need an internet connection to load the AR experience since it runs in your web browser. Make sure you have WiFi or mobile data available.
The AR isn't working. What should I do?
Try these troubleshooting steps:
- Make sure you're scanning a page with the AR icon
- If you have multiple AR books, ensure you've scanned the correct QR code - each book has a unique QR code that works only for that specific book
- Check that you've allowed camera permission in your browser
- Ensure you're in a well-lit area
- Keep your device steady and the page flat
- Turn off auto-rotate on your device
- Try refreshing the browser page
- Make sure your internet connection is stable
Can multiple people experience AR from the same book at once?
Yes! Each person can scan the QR code with their own device and enjoy the AR experience simultaneously, making it a fun shared activity for families and classrooms.
Which books have AR features?
Look for the AR-enabled badge on product pages. Our growing collection includes festival stories, educational books, cultural tales, and more. Each AR-enabled book clearly indicates which pages have interactive experiences.
Is the AR experience safe for children?
Absolutely! The AR experience is designed to be child-friendly and educational, with no external links, advertisements, or in-app purchases.
Privacy & Safety: The AR content and videos stay on your local device only - nothing is recorded or stored on our servers. Your privacy is completely protected, and no personal information is collected during the AR experience.
Can I use AR on a computer or laptop?
The AR experience is optimized for mobile devices (smartphones and tablets) with cameras. Desktop computers and laptops typically don't have the necessary camera positioning for the AR experience to work properly.
